Mention the word Rockbrook to most Omahans, and they immediately think of the unique shopping center located at 108 th and West Center Road. Known as Rockbrook Village, it was a major attraction and a magnet for families building new homes in the area when it was constructed in the 1960s. Shopping is not Rockbrook Village’s only attraction. It’s noted for its annual Art Fair which draws over 150 artists from all over the country and for in the summer, Friday night concerts in its open air plaza. Most holidays are celebrated with family activities, and the Rockbrook Merchants cooperate throughout the year with special events through their Association. As a part of District 66, schools serving the Rockbrook community are highly rated. Three elementary schools  (Rockbrook, Oakdale and Paddock Road) are found within its boundaries, and Westside Middle School and Westside High School are a short drive away.  Churches of many denominations, as well as several parochial schools are found near or within the area. And with its proximity to the Interstate system, a commute to almost any part of the city for employment and recreation is very manageable.
